Gerina has always been an avid sportsperson. Gerina started playing golf at the age of she was 15 years old. Gerina graduated from high school studies at Goddard High School. When she was in high school, she won the New Mexico state golf tournament. A volleyball player, she participated in state championships. Her first college was at the University of Texas. Her senior year was a success. she was a winner in every single tournament that she played in. During her college career she won an award called the Conference USA Player of The Award and The UTEP Female Sport Athlete Award.
